Anti-Ragging Cell

Ragging, a form of bullying and hazing prevalent in educational institutions, poses a serious threat to the well-being and safety of students. To combat this issue, the college has established an anti-ragging cell. These dedicated body works to prevent ragging, protect victims, and create a safe and respectful campus environment. The anti-ragging cell plays a crucial role in upholding students' rights and fostering a positive atmosphere conducive to learning and personal growth.

 

Objectives of the Anti-Ragging Cell

  • Prevent Ragging
  • Awareness Campaigns: Conducting regular awareness programs, workshops, and seminars to educate students about the harmful effects of ragging and the legal consequences.
  • Information Dissemination: Distributing informational materials, such as pamphlets and posters, to spread awareness about anti-ragging policies and support mechanisms.
  • Monitor and Deter Ragging Activities
  • Surveillance: Implementing surveillance measures, including CCTV cameras and regular patrols, to monitor campus areas prone to ragging incidents.
  • Strict Vigilance: Encouraging faculty, staff, and senior students to be vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
  • Confidential Reporting: Ensuring a safe and confidential reporting mechanism for victims and witnesses to report incidents without fear of retaliation.
  • Take Disciplinary Action
  • Investigation: Promptly investigating reported cases of ragging with fairness and transparency.
  • Penalties: Imposing strict penalties on perpetrators, including suspension, expulsion, and legal action as per institutional and legal frameworks.
  • Foster a Positive Campus Culture
  • Mentorship Programs: Establishing mentorship programs where senior students guide and support newcomers, promoting healthy interactions and reducing the likelihood of ragging.
  • Community Building: Organizing events and activities that foster camaraderie and mutual respect among students.
